Firewood looks inexpensive when only the price of a truckload is compared. The real need, however, is stable heat. Once useful energy, delivery, storage space and labour are included, BioBrig is often the more practical option.

This is the reference ratio used in the calculator at biobrig.lv. The exact result depends on firewood moisture and boiler efficiency, but the principle is clear: pressed fuel is dense and uniform, while a stack of logs contains air and often unwanted moisture.
Pay for fuel, not water
Without measuring moisture, it is impossible to know how much heat a load of firewood will provide. Wet logs dry inside the firebox first. BioBrig has predictable characteristics, so seasonal planning is more reliable.
No sawing, splitting or two-year drying
BioBrig is delivered ready for use. It is easy to stack, carry and dose. There is no need for a chainsaw, splitting axe, drying yard or constant cleaning of bark and chips.
Compact storage and steady heat
A tonne of dense briquettes takes less useful storage space than the equivalent firewood supply. The briquettes also hold heat for longer and generally require fewer refills.
