BioBrig is valued not only for the cost of heat but also for its long, even glow and reduced attention at the boiler. A correct first load is the key to using this advantage.
Start with an active flame
Place a few briquettes on dry kindling or a small amount of firewood and ensure sufficient draft. Once the firebox is warm, add the main load. Dense BioBrig reaches its working mode gradually and then releases heat steadily.
Do not fill the firebox completely at first
Begin with a smaller load than you normally use with firewood and monitor the boiler temperature. After several cycles you will know the optimal quantity for your equipment.
Regulate the air instead of closing it completely
Once the working temperature is reached, the air supply can be reduced. Do not close it completely: controlled combustion is more efficient than cold smouldering.
Reload onto a hot ember bed
Add fresh briquettes to the hot layer after the previous load has burned down. There is no need to restart the fire each time, which saves time and keeps the temperature stable.
Keep the boiler clean
Remove ash regularly and clean the heat exchanger and chimney according to the equipment manual. A clean system uses less fuel and maintains safe draft.
